Project Manager required for a reputable company based in Mthatha

(5 days per week)

Rural, Agri-Development and Oceans Economy Enterprise Support (Mthatha)

Qualifications:

  • B Degree in Agriculture/ Development Studies/Commerce with a minimum of 10 relevant working experience of which 3 years should be in economic / community development. Experience in Project Management will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities:

  • Provision of on-the-ground support relating to bee-keeping and honey processing, fishing and fish processing (and other relevant oceans economy related initiatives), vegetable production and processing, piggery farming and market linkages as well as chicken farming and market access.
  • Development of the programme support framework highlighting beneficial prioritisation measures, proposed support interventions and support arrangements.
  • Formulation of support project plans and budgets having regard to resource availability.
  • Undertaking of resource mobilisation to secure additional funds for the benefit of supported beneficiary groups.
  • Facilitation of collaborative partnerships with public and private sector institutions towards meeting the needs of the supported beneficiary groups.
  • Development of protocols to enable accessing of assistance by programme beneficiaries relating to existing financial incentives, business support and loans.
  • Provision of support relating to market access for supported for the relevant products produced by supported SMMEs.
  • Coordination with other public entities and government departments for purposes of securing support and off take agreements for the programme beneficiaries.
  • Develop and manage project plan and budget for the programme as well as monitor expenditure for the programme in line with the budget
  • Develop and implement a monitoring and evaluation framework for the programme.
